There is something familiar about Pipanella. Something you may have seen before, without quite remembering where. A floral motif. An ornament. A vase from a home you once knew. A pattern or a detail that stirs a memory.
Pipanella takes these familiar shapes as its starting point and gives them new life. Elements from the past are taken out of their original context, reinterpreted and brought together in a contemporary design universe. The nostalgic never becomes old-fashioned. The familiar becomes surprising.
It is precisely the meeting of old and new that gives Pipanella its special character. Organic shapes meet graphic patterns. Soft curves stand alongside bold reliefs. The feminine meets the more robust, and the detailed surfaces create depth and give the porcelain a lively expression.
When you come closer, you discover new details. The reliefs are highlighted by the glaze, and light and shadow move across the surface of the porcelain as the light in the room changes. This gives Pipanella a tactile and sculptural quality, giving the products a presence – even when they are not in use.
Pipanella includes vases, candlesticks and wall candle holders in different shapes, sizes and colours. They are made to stand alone, but also to come together across the range. A small vase with a single flower. Several vases gathered in different heights and shades. A candlestick on the table or a wall candle holder, where the flame brings the pattern in the porcelain into sharper relief.
With or without flowers. With or without a lit candle.
These are small everyday works of art – design objects you'll want to leave on display and live with over time.
Behind Pipanella's poetic expression lies an uncompromising approach to porcelain quality and craftsmanship. The detailed reliefs, precise shapes and distinctive glazes place great demands on production. The porcelain is cast, and each piece is worked and polished by hand before the products are glazed and fired at very high temperatures.
The glaze is an important part of Pipanella's expression. It settles differently over reliefs, edges and recesses, thereby highlighting the patterns and details in the porcelain. The thickness of the glaze, the temperature of the kiln and the product's placement during firing all affect the final result.
When porcelain is created and finished by human hands, two products are never entirely alike. Small variations in surface, shape and glaze are therefore not flaws, but a natural part of the craftsmanship. They help give each design in Pipanella its own character.
We don't surround ourselves with things only because they are beautiful or functional. Some things take on a special meaning because they stir memories, create a mood, or remind us of something we love.
It is this feeling that Pipanella springs from.
The collection is not a nostalgic copy of the past, but a contemporary interpretation of something we already know. Made for the personal home, where new meets old, design meets memories, and things from different eras are allowed to stand together and create their own story.
A personal home is not created according to one particular style. It grows out of the things we choose, use, keep and love.
Pipanella celebrates the beautiful memories of a bygone era – and gives them new life in the home today.
